Silent Cancer Causing Products By Babyorganix

BabyOrganix is not only here to offer organic self-care products. We are also here to educate families on toxic products and how to make a complete shift into a home that is absolutely chemical-free.

Living 100% chemical-free would not guarantee that you won’t get cancer, but this will impact how the treatment is treated and its long-term side effects, including secondary cancers and chances of relapse. Harmful ingredients can be found in the food we eat and in the products we are using every day. Understanding and avoiding these dangerous substances would not just protect us from cancer but also protect us from numerous other health issues.

The biggest misconception people make when they begin this transition to non-toxic, is that they’ll go down an all-natural track. Without knowing that not all-natural products are toxic-free. In conjunction with World Cancer Day, BabyOrganix listed down the 8 toxic ingredients you should watch out for and the products you should buy to avoid cancer-causing substances and to start a healthy lifestyle.

8 Toxic Ingredients That Can Cause Cancer

  1. Glyphosate

Glyphosate is a major ingredient in the world’s most-used weed killer, Roundup by Monsanto. A major concern is that it is difficult to get completely off the glyphosate used in fields from food ingredients. It has been found that glyphosate has a link with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and a few other cancers as well.

  1. Food Coloring

Food coloring has several health impacts depending on the particular colors and not all food coloring contains the same risks. For reference, Blue Dye #1 and #2 are believed to trigger brain tumors and chromosomal damage, while lymphomas, chromosomal damage, and hyperactivity are known to cause by Red Dye #40, the most commonly used artificial dye.

  1. Teflon

When Teflon is scratched in pans, some of the nonstick coatings might get into your food. Teflon includes particles called PFAS, which have been agreed to be carcinogenic by over 200 scientists. Studies have shown that not only is Teflon harmful when swallowed directly, but when heated, it also releases PFAS into the air. Be sure to look for goods that are clearly PFAS-free when shopping for cookware and avoid anything with the Teflon name or Chemours coatings listed.

  1. Formaldehyde

Formaldehyde is a carcinogen, a category that is proven to cause serious health problems. It can cause skin, eye, nose, and throat irritation, and certain forms of cancers can be caused by high levels of exposure. When combined with water it is called methylene glycol and can be present in many products, most commonly in hair products.

  1. Fragrances

Fragrances have all been related to numerous health concerns. From skin and eye discomfort to cancer and endocrine destruction. Fragrances can be full of harmful or toxic perfume chemicals and contain many other hidden toxic additives. Scented products that use fragrances from perfumes to laundry detergents to air fresheners can lead to toxic contamination for us and our loved ones.

  1. Heavy Metals

Metals like lead have also been associated with cancer and reproductive toxicity and proven to be a neurotoxin. Lead is an extremely toxic heavy metal that exists naturally in the Earth’s crust. It is present in all parts of the environment and is mainly derived from human activities such as mining, manufacturing, and fossil fuel combustion. This is one of the natural yet toxic active ingredients.

  1. Parabens

Parabens are being used in beauty and personal care products such as cosmetics, moisturizers, shaving cream, shampoo, and many more. There are many studies currently recognized by the FDA that relate parabens that replicate estrogen to breast cancer, skin cancer, and decreased sperm count. When shopping for personal care products always look for the ones labeled with “paraben-free”.

  1. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)

It has been shown that Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or SLS causes and contributes to skin irritation, canker sores, disruptions in the natural oil balance of the skin, and eye damage. It is often considered to be a significant factor to trigger acne around the mouth and chin. SLS can be found in shampoo, body wash, foundation, face wash, mouthwash, and toothpaste. So it’s better to use organic toiletries that don’t contain such ingredients.
